Zum Thema: Natur und Parfum

Picture 1Das Thema “Natur” in Parfums wird oftmals kontrovers diskutiert. Viele unterschiedliche Positionen werden deutlich und engagiert vertreten. Eine Einordnung der Diskussion mit unterschiedlichen Argumenten und Argumentationslinien ist nun auf dem Blog des SpaCamps erschienen. Dort werden natürlich nur einige der wichtigen Diskussionspunkte angesprochen – mit dem Ziel, sich über das Thema “Natur und Parfum” mehr Gedanken zu machen.

Branchentreff Drogerie

Picture 1Zum zweiten Mal nach 2013 darf ich als Teilnehmer am “Branchentreff Drogerie” des Kongressorganisators Euroforum auf dem Podium Platz nehmen. Am 21. und 22. Mai findet im Düsseldorfer Novotel der alljährliche Branchenkongress statt, der Märkte, Sortimente und Zielgruppen der Drogerie in den Fokus stellt und neue Entwicklungen im sich schnell ändernden Segment abbildet. Picture 1As the website claims, in-cosmetics -Hamburg, 01.-03. April 2014- is “the leading global business platform for personal care ingredients. It brings together the world’s leading personal care ingredients suppliers, formulators, R&D and marketing specialists and showcases the most diverse range of innovative cosmetics ingredients and technologies.”
I am curious and intrigued to visit this international show in Hamburg.

Beauty International, Düsseldorf

Picture 2Die Beauty International, 21.-23. März 2014, ist die jährlich stattfindende deutsche Leitmesse für Kosmetik, Nail, Fuss, Wellness und Spa. Sie ist auf dem Gelände der Messe Düsseldorf verortet und zieht Aussteller und Besucher aus der ganzen Welt an. Im Rahmen meiner regelmäßigen Messebesuche machte ich mir auch diesmal unter anderem ein Bild von der Branche und führte interessante Gespräche.

Scentury-article: On ‘vintage perfume’

Picture 4I am very happy that my guest article ‘Olfactive love does not evaporate’ was just published on Scentury’s commentary section “We say”. The article deals with the topic of ‘vintage perfume’ and is followed by an interview with Barbara Herman, one of the most knowledgeable and well-known figures in the field of vintage/subversive perfume. Barbara has a prominent blog, she is a journalist, writer, and just authored a remarkable book on “Scent & Subversion. Decoding a century of provocative perfume” (Lyons Press, Guilford, CT: 2013). I had the pleasure to meet her in New York recently.
